We snapped Jennifer Lopez and hubby Marc Anthony leaving Luau last night, and though a source tells E! Online that the two had a romantic dinner where they "snuck in smooches throughout the night" and "snuggled together in a booth," we're beginning to wonder if the lovey dovey date was just photo op/publicity stunt.
The latest issue of Us Weekly reports that the couple have reached a "breaking point," and multiple sources confirm to the magazine that the couple's marriage is on the rocks. Last week, J. Lo showed up to the premiere for "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button" minus her engagement ring, wedding ring and husband, and pals close to the couple tell the mag that Marc is "very, very controlling of [J. Lo]," and it sounds like she's sick of it!
Another insider says Marc has even been badmouthing his wife! After an awkward Thanksgiving dinner where couple "didn't sit together," Marc went clubbing in NYC at Bungalow 8 and Marquee, where he was spotted with his hand on a woman's thigh and overheard saying, "[Jennifer] is making me miserable." So what's really going on here?
After reading Us Weekly's article, we had a serious case of deja vu - that's because J. Lo pulled a very similar move back in September of 2003 when she called off her wedding to then flame Ben Affleck. The couple had a very public dinner at the Ivy the same day they cancelled their wedding, and just three months later, they announced their split. Is J. Lo going for round two, or was last night just another romantic dinner date for the couple?
Jennifer Lopez might be looking at a fourth marriage. Things aren't going well with Marc and not just because he looks like Skeletor's Latino cousin: Bones Gonzalez. Turns out he's a bit of a control freak and doesn't help out with their twin babies. Us Weekly reports:
"He's very, very controlling of her," a close Anthony pal tells Us. "The skirts aren't as short. You don't see so much of that booty anymore." The new Us Weekly also reports that Anthony also picks out Lopez’s clothes and keeps tabs on her phone calls.
But Lopez -- who once claimed she "loved getting his opinions" -- has become less interested in his approval since the birth of their 10-month-old twins, Max and Emme.
"She walks in from work, washes her hands and grabs the babies," a longtime friend tells Us. "With him, it's almost like, 'Ugh, they're crying again?'"
Another problem: Lopez — who once commanded $15 million per film — “blames Marc for her career going down the tubes,” says a mutual pal, adding that she’s bitter about the failure of their 2006 drama, El Cantante, which only grossed $7.5 million. (Her 2002 flick Maid in Manhattan earned over $94 million.)
"Jennifer looked around and said, 'This is my life now? I'm a Long Island housewife?'" a pal says. "She hates that everything she worked for went down the tubes."
