Jennifer Lopez - InStyle Magazine September 2012
In the September issue cover girl Jennifer Lopez, actress, singer, entrepreneur, and mom, talks about her career and how she survived the tough times. “You realize that those difficult moments, the times when you feel pain, are when you do a lot of your growing,” the 43-year-old told InStyle. “You realize: There’s no reason to be terrified of things. Either way I’m going to be OK.” And even at superstar status, she worries just like every other mom. “I feel the pressures of wanting to be a great parent and of wanting to do right by my children. Being a mom, or a dad, is the most important job there is. It doesn’t matter who you are. Jennifer Lopez Extra Interview
"Extra's" Terri Seymour met up with pop star Jennifer Lopez, where the "Dance Again" singer dished about
her "America Idol" replacement, Mariah Carey, her surprise birthday
party with beau Casper Smart, and more!
The pop star and former "American Idol" judge is said to want to focus on music and movies.Jennifer Lopez has signed with CAA for representation in all areas.
The move marks a return for multi-hyphenate Lopez, who most recently was
with the Century City-based agency in 2003 and is said to want to focus
on film and music. She had been repped by UTA.
Lopez is coming off of two seasons as a judge on American Idol and a top-lining acting gig with What to Expect When You’re Expecting. She also voiced a character in Ice Age: Continental Drift.
Her next big film role will be starring opposite Jason Statham in Parker, Taylor Hackford’s adaptation of a Donald Westlake novel.
On the music front, Lopez is on a North American tour with Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias
through Sept. 2; the next dates are Aug. 16 and 17 at Staples Center in
Los Angeles. She then embarks on a world tour that starts Oct. 5 in
Lisbon, Portugal, and wraps with a series of Australian dates in
December.
Lopez has a collection of clothing and shoes for Kohl’s and a line of
fragrances for Coty. The latter has been called the most successful
celebrity fragrance line and was one of the factors helping her land in
the top spot of the Forbes Celebrity 100 List. She continues to be repped by Benny Medina and attorneys Bob Wallerstein and Barry Hirsch.
Jennifer Lopez Drops UTA As Her Agency: Is This The Start Of Another Career Shake-Up?
So what else is new? J-Lo over the years has disposed of more Hollywood agencies than boyfriends including CAA, ICM, Endeavor, and William Morris – sometimes more than once. UTA helped start J-Lo in acting by putting her in Selena and Steven Soderbergh’s Out Of Sight.
After leaving, she came back to UTA in 2008 to focus on restarting what
was then her dormant acting career after she had twins. She is
partnered on her production company Nuyorican with Simon Fields, while
manager Benny Medina masterminded J-Lo’s comeback. The question now is,
without the American Idol spotlight, will her career go dark again?
UTA didn’t handle her 8-month world tour which prevented her from
signing on to more movie/TV projects. But it did rep Lopez for The Back-Up Plan and What To Expect When You’re Expecting which both underperformed at the box office, and in Taylor Hackford’s Parker coming
out in 2013. UTA also helped put a lot of TV shows in development for
Nuyorican. Oxygen just bought the pitch for a reality show centered
around the dancers on her tour and her choreographer/boyfriend Casper
Smart. There’s also one show on the air at Tru and another on
Spike right now: Big Easy Justice and South Beach Tow.
On the scripted side, UTA has put 10 projects in development including
three current shows – one each at Fox, ABC Family, and MTV.
J-Lo left Idol because she wants to perform onstage and star
in more movies. But, seriously, how in demand is yet another
42-year-old singer-actress given the reality of showbiz? It’s not like
Lopez is hurting for money: Forbes magazine this year placed her #1 on
its celebrity money-makers, pinpointing her earnings at $52 million
through hit singles, increased album sales, that tour, TV and
movies, endorsements, a clothing and lifestyle collection for Kohl’s,
and an 18th scent to her fragrance line Glow.
Last night Jennifer Lopez performed on stage for her tour with Enrique Iglesias in Anaheim, California at the Honda Center. The pair both did features with special guest Pitbull during their sets. Some pictures posted below via twitter.

Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias cancel Anaheim concert
Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias’ Sunday concert at Anaheim’s Honda Center has been canceled.
The
two are currently co-anchoring a tour -- Iglesias’ first joint venture
and the first headlining outing for Lopez -- which is scheduled to roll
into the Southland with a pair of shows in Anaheim and Los Angeles.
Show promoter AEG Live announced late Monday that Sunday’s Anaheim show was nixed.
The tour's other three area concerts -- Saturday’s show and two at Staples Center scheduled for next weekend -- will be performed as originally planned.
Fans who purchased tickets for Sunday’s show can exchange them for one
of the other L.A. area shows, which could prove a logistical nightmare
considering both venues have comparable capacities. Refunds through Ticketmaster or original point of purchase are also available.
No reason for the cancellation was given. Their joint outing wraps Sept.
2 in Orlando before Lopez, who recently announced she wouldn’t return
to her post as an “American Idol” judge, goes on a solo leg in Europe
and Asia that is set to conclude in Manila at the end of November.
Jennifer Lopez has sued her former driver for
extortion, claiming he demanded $2.8 million or else he'd tell the media
and authorities about secrets he overheard while driving her here and
there.
Jennifer's case is a countersuit to a claim filed by Hakob Manoukian, who claimed he was forced to resign after being publicly berated by JLo's manager, Benny Medina.
In
her countersuit, obtained by TMZ, Lopez alleges Manoukian became drunk
with power and wanted to control her entire security team and get more
money for doing it. When he was shut down, Jennifer claims he
retaliated by threatening to spill confidential information that would
be highly embarrassing.
And it gets worse. JLo says Manoukian
threatened that if he wasn't paid $2.8 million he would take his info to
authorities and have her criminally prosecuted.
Lopez is suing for damages in excess of $20 million.
